In the tradition of neighbors sharing their bounty with each other we are asking the community to help ensure that everyone has a Thanksgiving dinner. 86,000 Vermonters are food insecure and do not know where their next meal is coming from, and may not have much on their table on November 24. As you pause to give thanks for all that’s good in your own life, if you are able, please consider giving to others who may not share the same luxuries. Last year your generosity helped over 250 families celebrate Thanksgiving. Food insecurity is on the rise and our goal is to collect 300 bags. Please encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to join you in your giving!
Giving is Easy
1. Pick up your bag(s)
Thanksgiving Package bags can be picked up at Milton’s Hannaford – Just inside the main entrance; Milton’s Kinney Drugs, Centre Drive, Milton; MFCC – 23 Villemaire Lane, Milton; 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday; or the Milton Town Clerk’s office, Municipal Building, Bombardier Rd. Collection Dates: Now – November 18. OR you can print the list below and use a standard paper grocery sack
2. Fill your bag(s)
Fill your bag(s) with the items on the list. Please check the items off on the bag as you pack it. Complete bags can be folded at the top and taped shut. This tells us the bag is filled and ready to distribute. Each registered family seeking assistance will be given a filled bag during the week before Thanksgiving. Incomplete bags should NOT be taped shut. We will complete them before giving them out.
3. Deliver Your Bags
Deliver your bags to MFCC, Wednesday, November 16 through Friday, November 18 between 8 am and 5 pm.
4. Feel Good
Knowing you helped make a difference to a family in your community who struggles with food security is a good feeling. This family will celebrate Thanksgiving because of you.
